Guide to Enabling Camera & Microphone Access for the AI BET Test

To ensure a smooth and secure testing experience, the AI Bharat English Test (BET) requires access to your computer's camera and microphone for proctoring and for the Speaking section of the exam. This is a mandatory step. Please follow this guide to enable all necessary permissions before your scheduled exam time to prevent any delays. Permissions must be enabled in two places:

  1. Your Computer's Operating System (Windows or macOS)

  2. Your Web Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

Part 1: Operating System Permissions

First, you must ensure your browser has permission to access your hardware at the system level. For Windows 10 & 11 Laptops(Applies to all brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, etc.)

You need to check the settings for both the camera and the microphone separately.

  3. Under App permissions, select Camera.

  7. Go back to Privacy & Security, and now select Microphone.

  8. Repeat steps 4-6 to ensure "Microphone access" is enabled for your browser.

  5. If you change this setting, you will be asked to quit and reopen your browser for the change to take effect.

  6. Go back to Privacy & Security and now select Microphone.

  7. Repeat steps 4-5 to ensure your browser has access to the microphone.
